The BOGS ROUND of the FOGSI Dr USHA KRISHNA QUIZ 2023 was held on 29.09.2023 at SSKM and IPGMER Hospital. The President of BOGS Dr Mausumi De Banerjee started the proceedings with words of encouragement for the young participants. There was a total of 33 teams from different medical colleges of Kolkata, Diamond Harbour, Rampurhat and Midnapore who appeared for the initial written Preliminary round.
The teams from Diamond Harbour Medical College, NRS Medical College, Sagore Dutta Medical College combined with Medical College Kolkata and Calcutta National Medical College scored the highest marks in the preliminary round, thereby qualifying for the Main round. This was conducted by the Quizmasters Dr Ramprasad Dey, Dr Jayita Chakrabarti, Dr Susmita Chattopadhyay, Dr Poushali Sanyal and Dr Chaitali Datta Ray. The Score keeper and Time keeper were Dr Bidisha Raychaudhuri and Dr M Mounica Teja respectively.
The combined team from Sagore Dutta Medical College and Medical College Kolkata consisting of Dr Swarnali Biswas and Dr Sanjana Jain were the winners and qualified for the East Zonal rounds to be held at EAST ZONE YUVA FOGSI 2023 at Imphal.
Many senior members of BOGS namely, Dr Ashis Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Dr Amitava Das, Dr Biswajyoti Guha and Dr Gouri Shankar Kamilya were present during the proceedings. They helped in the correction of the answer scripts of the preliminary round and also encouraged the participating teams from the audience.
A total of 83 delegates attended the program.
